MIGRATION OF THE HEART TO ALLAH (AZZAWAJAL):

MIGRATION OF THE HEART TO ALLAH (AZZAWAJAL):

By Bint Ahmad

Hijrah to Allah consists of abandoning what HE hates and doing what HE loves and accepts.

Hijrah of the heart is required of a person as long as he breaths.

The heart's hijrah requires migrating "FROM" one state "TO" another. A person migrates with his heart:
FROM Loving other than Allah TO Loving HIM

FROM offering servitude to othe rthan Allah TO Offering it to HIM

FROM fearing other than Allah TO fearin HIM

FROM having hope in other than Allah TO having hope in HIM

FROM relying on other than Allah TO relying on HIM

FROM asking and deploring other than Allah TO asking and deploring HIM

FROM submitting and surrendering to other than Allah TO submitting and surrendering to HIM.

This is precisely the meaning of "FLEEING UNTO ALLAH (AZZAWAJAL), as Allah says:

فَفِرُّواْ إِلَى اللَّهِ
"FLEE THEN UNTO ALLAH........."
SURAH ADH DHARIYAT 51:50

When you set you heart on undertaking this journey of migrating to Allah (Azzawajal), you should take a companinon to befriend along the way.

He who intends to undertake this journey should accompany the "DEAD" WHO IN REALITY ARE ALIVE! Their company will enable him to reach his goal. And he should avoid the company of the living people who are in reality dead ---- they will only disrupt his way.

Nothing is more important to a traveller than associating with the former company and disowning the latter.

One of the SALAF said:

" GREAT INDEED IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE WHO ARE DEAD BUT WHOSE REMEMBRANCE BRINGS LIFE TO THE HEART, AND THOSE WHO ARE ALIVE BUT WHOSE COMPANY CAUSES DEATH TO THE HEART".

Thus nothing is more harmful to a person than his peers and associates. His vision and aspirations are usually limited to imitating them, competing with them, and following their footsteps --- even if they entered a lizard's hole, he would love to enter with them.

You must turn away from the company of the ignorant associates, to the company of those who are absent in person, but whose bounties and good influence continues to exixt in the world.
